A reconciliatory committee comprising representatives of Christians, notables of the area, religious leaders and MPAs observed that it was an act of individuals and element of sectarianism was not involved in the incident.

The committee was constituted by the DPO. Four of the accused who were arrested by police declared before the body that they were intoxicated and they did not plan the attack.

Though the issue was resolved, police squads were still patrolling the area to avoid any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, the Samundri Saddar police arrested four nominated accused, Asim, Shabbir, Waqas and Nadeem, while two others, Bhatti and Javed, were still at large. They were remanded in police custody for three days by the duty magistrate.
