HARIPUR, Dec 30: Work on electoral rolls for the general election scheduled to be held in October next year will begin on Jan 1 in the Haripur district.

This was stated by the district election commissioner, Khalid Waheed, while speaking to the participants of a training programme arranged for the election staff here the other day.

He said the first phase of preparing electoral rolls was scheduled to end by Jan 31. Anomalies, if found any, would be removed from the lists, and new voters would be registered, he added.

He asked the trainees to ensure transparency and impartiality in preparing the electoral rolls.

According to the lists prepared during the local bodies polls, there are over 3,870,000 registered voters in the district.
