LAHORE: An accountability court on Friday issued release order of a retired brigadier after he reached plea-bargain with the National Accountability Bureau in Defence Canal Road’s Rs50 million misappropriation scam.

A NAB official told the court that suspect retired Brig Muhammad Arif Khan had opted to plea bargain and also deposited first installment of the amount embezzled by him. The retired official also submitted documents of plea-bargain to the court.

The court approved the bargain and issued his release order.

The NAB had arrested Khan along with Atif Rasheed, Sohaib Arshad, Naseem Abbas and Ali Abbas last week.
