HYDERABAD, Dec 30: The Sindh University Jamshoro conducted admissions tests for the first time to the Bachelor’s degree programme for the academic session 2002 at the Elsa Qazi Campus (old campus), University Model School, on Sunday.

A total number of 2,422 candidates appeared in the test.

Strict security arrangements were taken at the test centre as all entrance and exit points were closed prior to the start of the test. Besides, a heavy contingent of police was deployed at the gates. No outsider was allowed in the vicinity of the examination centre.

The vice chancellor, Sindh University, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, personally supervised the test. He was accompanied by the convener, admissions test committee, Prof Asif Ali Qazi, the director, IBA, Dr. Anwar Ali Shah, the University registrar, Prof Ferozuddin Qazi, the director, admissions, M. Saleh Rajar, and other faculty members.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor said that in future Sindh University would provide assistance to other educational institutions of Sindh for conducting admissions test.

He said the basic objective of the admissions test was to grant admission to deserving students.

He said the classes will start from Jan 26.
