LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Police claimed on Sunday to have foiled a terror attack on important government buildings in the city and arrested three alleged members of proscribed IS.

A CTD spokesman said a police team after receiving information about the presence of suspected terrorists conducted a raid at a house in Bhatti Chowk and arrested three people. He said the suspects were identified as Tariq Mahmood, Essa Khan and Ghulam Nabi.

He said the suspects were planning to attack important government buildings in the city and claimed that they had recovered 1,500 gram explosive material, detonators, prima cord and electric circuits from their custody.
