ISLAMABAD: SSP Sajid Kiani has directed the heads of all police stations to launch effective crackdown on alm-seekers and ensure registration of cases against them after arresting them, police said here on Saturday.

Following his directions, the Islamabad Police had constituted teams which would patrol shopping centers and markets and arrest professional beggars, the spokesman for the police said.

On Friday, Islamabad police arrested 100 beggars and action had been also taken as per law against them.

The SSP said that mischievous elements wander in the city in guise of beggars and strict action was needed to curb such activities.

Following his directions, heads of all police stations have started effective crackdown on alm-seekers and cases will be registered after their arrest.
