LAHORE, Dec 30: Police on Sunday took two labourers into custody in connection with the murder of five family members in North Cantonment.

Abdul Islam, his wife, two sons and a daughter were found dead in his under-construction house in the Officers Colony on Friday.

The investigation officer said that they could not rule out a dacoity-cum-murder. He said they took the labourers into custody for questioning. He said that missing of some valuables from the house made them to take this action.

Earlier, the police had ruled out the dacoity element and claimed that the victims fell a prey to an enmity.

On Sunday, a large number people took part in the Quran Khwani for the deceased family in Dharampura.
