Azhar to Mobilize masses

Published November 24, 2003

LAHORE, Nov 23: Former PML-Q president Mian Muhammad Azhar said in a statement on Sunday that he would mobilize the masses and hold the looter accountable.

He warned that once the poverty-stricken people came out on the streets, the rulers would find no place to escape.

He said in a country where people were committing suicides along with their children because they did not have anything to eat, was a matter of shame for those claiming that the foreign exchange reserves had gone up to $12 billion.

Former Punjab governor Mian Azhar said those who had shown “unprecedented generosity” by reducing electricity charges by paisa per unit were fast heading toward their end. —Staff Reporter
