HARIPUR, Nov 23: A young boy was shot dead, while a man committed suicide in separate incidents here on Saturday.

Police said that Mohammad Nasir, a tailor’s apprentice, was shot dead while he was stitching clothes at the shop, adding that he was rushed to the DHQ Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The assailant, identified as Liaquat, fled the scene of the crime.

In another incident, Naseer Akhtar, an employee of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, committed suicide in the Shah Maqsood village here.

His wife, Nighat Bibi, told police that her husband did not go to work on the day of the occurrence of the incident and had instead locked himself up in a room in the house, where he shot himself with a 12-bore gun.
