MIRPURKHAS, Nov 23: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan has demanded arrest of culprits involved in the kidnapping and torturing of a peasant and his son in Chhachro taluka.

Talking to journalists here on Saturday, the HRCP activists Sarwan Kumar Bheel, Bhagwan Das and Kanji Rano said Resham Bheel and his son, Prem, were tortured by landlord Mubeen Rahimoon and his sons, Ehdi, Haneef and Qamruddin when they refused to work at their lands without remuneration.

They said they kidnapped Resham and detained him at the guest house in Hebo-jo-Par village, Chhacharo taluka.

They said Prem contacted them and stated atrocities of the landlord and his sons.

The HRCP activists said they complained about the excesses to Kheensar police and the SHO Ghulam Haider Samejo conducted a raid at the village and found Resham Bheel in chains.

The victim was released and an FIR was lodged against the accused.

They said Mr Bheel was admitted to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital’s orthopaedic ward.

DISPUTE: Differences have cropped up between the Sindh government and the district administration over the transfer of EDO health.

The secretary health had issued the transfer order of the EDO health, Dr Fazal Yousfani, without the approval of the services and general group department.

The charge was not handed over to Dr Ahmed Bux Bhutto on the pretext that the transfer order was not issued by the competent authority.
