KARACHI, Nov 23: The Jamaat-i-Islami Secretary General, Syed Munawwar Hasan, has said that the technology has been defeated by the power of faith and the ongoing resistance in Iraq and Afghanistan to the allied forces is the manifestation of this reality.

Speaking at a gathering in Bin Qasim, Mr Hasan said that the United States, fearing humiliating defeat, was prepared to hold negotiations with the representatives of Taliban in Afghanistan. After Sept 11 tragedy, he said, the US and forces of infidels had made the rulers of Muslim countries its agents, making life of Ummah and Jehadi forces miserable.

“The FBI personnel were moving freely after bargaining over freedom and sovereignty,” he said. However, he added that the spirit behind martyrdom had been defeating the technology.

At another gathering, JI Karachi chief Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui said that the defeat was destined for the US in Iraq and Afghanistan. He said that the occupied territories would very soon turn into their graveyards.

ZAKAT: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal legislators have accused ministers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement of collecting Zakat money from the chairmen of Zakat committees under coercion and threat and putting their stamps on blank forms.

The members of National Assembly Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Abdul Sattar Afghani, Muhammad Laeeq Khan and members of the Sindh Assembly Nasrullah Khan Shajee, Hameedullah Khan and Yunus Barai said that the MQM ministers had been extorting Zakat money under pressure and depriving the deserving citizens of their due rights.

The leaders said that citizens had become fully aware of their designs, who instead of mitigating their miseries were indulging in collecting funds.
