Roads in Wana

Published June 13, 2016

THIS refers to development work in South Wazirstan by the army. The establishment has vowed to change the social fabric of society by developing road linkages and infrastructure, building of schools and colleges, etc.

Sadly, the already constructed Wana-Azam Warsak road is not functional and people have to suffer a great deal to reach Wana bazaar.

Dabkot is a village near Wana bazaar and is accessible through this road and can be reached in 10 minutes but the authorities force the people to go through the dirt track which takes 40 minutes to reach the bazaar, which is a great inconvenience.

If the army units in Wana are really keen to change the social fabric of society, they need to make functional the already constructed road linkages rather than construct others for their own convoys.

If someone gives you an apple and commands you not to eat it than it is like you don’t have it.
