Sheikh XI advance

KARACHI, Nov 22: Powered by Azhar Gul’s unbeaten 89 and Fauz ul Azim 51 not out Sheikh XI forced their way into the final of the First Ramazan Super Cup beating Late Ismail Jaffer CC by ten wickets at the Student’s Sports ground on Saturday.

Batting first Late Ismail Jaffer CC could manage only 146 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 25 allotted overs. Ashraf Hussain was top scorer with an unbeaten 54. Kamran Hussain chipped in with 32 and Khursheed Alam 22.

Skipper Shoukat Rajput was the most successful bowler for Sheikh XI, returning with figures of three for 33.

Needing 147 runs for victory, Sheikh XI romped home in 19.3 overs without losing a wicket.

Sunday’s fixture: KGA Gymkhana v Rafiq Shirazi CC (semifinal) 1.15 p.m.
