LAHORE, Nov 22: The Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) will remodel the Allama Iqbal Town main road at an estimated cost of Rs130 million.

The road will be widened reducing the width of the median. Service road will also be remodelled and narrow storm water channel bridge, which causes traffic jams, will be widened.

The district Nazim has given approval to start the scheme with the City District Government fund pending the receipt of grant from the Punjab government.

Remodelling of the road has been necessitated due to traffic congestion as a result commercialization. More than 160,000 vehicles ply on the two kilometre road from Multan Road to Wahdat Road daily.
