LAHORE, Nov 22: The Solid Waste Management of the City District Government will again invite fresh offers from the private sector for the scientific disposal of the solid waste shortly.

Invitation of fresh offers has been necessitated because the SWM invited the previous offers for setting up the compost plant only at the Mahmood Booti site on Bund Road. It processed the cases not only for setting up of compost plant at Mahmood Booti but compost-cum-waste to energy projects on Ferozepur Road and Multan Road as well.

The SWM will now invite private sector offers only for scientific disposal of solid waste without mentioning the nature of plants or the areas where these will be set up.

The entrepreneurs whose cases have been processed for setting up of a compost plant at Mahmood Booti and compost-cum-waste to energy projects on Multan Road and Ferozepur Road would not have to make fresh offers.

Seeking of economic feasibility reports has not been considered necessary from the private entrepreneurs as the projects are to be completed totally without involving government funds.

The SWM authorities understand that the private sector people would invest in the projects only in case the same are economically feasible.
