KARACHI, Nov 22: The IGP Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah, has taken serious notice of reports that the police personnel supposed to conduct snap checking for security only resort to harass occupants of vehicles by seeking documents of their vehicles.

The IG has directed the CCPO, DIG Operations, TPOs and SHOs of the city police to pay surprise visits of the spots where snap checking is under way and see personally that people are not being harassed on the pretext of security check.

He has also ordered stern action against the police personnel involved in such undesirable activities.

He categorically impressed upon the senior officials that the personnel assigned to carry out snap checking must restrict their operation to security check only and not checking of documents.—PPI
