KARACHI, Nov 20: Nine ships carrying DAP fertilizer, soyabean meal and transformers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher where eight ships were berthed. They are: Flame, P&O Nedlloyed Nelson, Bunga Terasak, Hyundai Sprinter and Al-Wajba, to unload and load containers, Pigi to offload sugar for Afghanistan, Royal Lady to load Bitumen and Mercs Sajinda to offload soyabean meal.

Four ships, APL Portugal, Courageous Ace, Bereket Ka and Mandalay departed on Thursday, while Northern Bell, Bunga Terasak, Hyundai Sprinter, Al-Wajba, PONL Nelson and Flame are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk where a total tonnage of 0.128m tons comprising 26,652 tons of export cargo including 3,602 tons of rice and 0.101m tons of import tonnage including 71,378 tons of dry cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Thor Simba, with 100 transformers, Koriana, with 50,000 tons of high speed diesel, Commo-Jc-Jimenez, with 66,000 tons crude oil, Norasia Sindh, Kota Tegap, Wan Hai-305 and Kota Henning, with containers, Pacific Ocean, with 34,305 tons of DAP fertilizer and Badul Valley, with 3,100 tons of soyabean meal.
