Ali helps KRL rout PTV by an innings

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18: KRL cruised to an innings and 14-run victory over PTV on Tuesday, medium pacer Ali Naqvi continuing to play havoc with the ball in this Patron’s Trophy Qualifying Round match.

Naqvi, who had three second innings wickets overnight, picked up another two on the third day to finish with five for 26 as PTV fell for 141. Naqvi had match figures of 10 for 54.

Jaffar Nazir also did well with the ball, taking three for 32 while Yasir Arafat claimed two for 26.

Ahmed Shah was the only batsman to make a worthwhile contribution of 46 to the PTV total.

Meanwhile at the Shalimar Cricket Ground in Islamabad, there was no play for the second day running in the match between PTCL and ARL because of a wet square.

PTCL had scored 135 for one on the opening day of the game on Sunday.
