KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18: Malaysian hockey team will leave for Karachi on Dec 11 to play two Tests against Pakistan.

Team manager Zulkifli Abbas said “I expect all players to stay in shape. They are in better condition than during Afro-Asian Games in Hyderabad. I don’t want to see all that go to waste.”

The Malaysians will fly straight to Madrid on Dec 14 where they are down to play two Tests against Spain and two friendlies against clubs there. Madrid, is venue for Olympics qualifier in March.

“We do not have time to work on fitness after the break. The coaches will have to focus on technique and tactics before team leaves for Pakistan,” added Zulkifli.—PPI
