IT is disturbing to learn that Bollywood film director Kabir Khan had to face shoe-wielding protesters at Karachi airport. He came to Pakistan because he was extended an invitation by our people to attend a marketing seminar.
He was very excited to be here. Is this the way we should be treating our guests? Pakistan’s hospitality is famous all over the world. International celebrities have acknowledged this fact that Pakistanis are the best hosts.
Serious questions arise on the security agencies performing their duties at the airport as to why they are not able to counter such protests, in general, and protesters within the airport premises where only passengers with valid tickets and visas have access to?
Recently, former Pakistani singer Junaid Jamshed and Information Minister Pervez Rasheed had to face similar situations.
If appropriate measures are not taken immediately, as a nation we will not only have to face embarrassment but will also lose the respect of being the best host in the world.
