PESHAWAR: The office-bearers of Teaching Staff Association, Islamia College University, Peshawar, have called upon Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to direct the departments concerned for expediting release of bonus to the university employees.

The demand was made in an executive council meeting of the Teaching Staff Association, Islamia College University held here on Tuesday with its president Prof Dr. Mohammad Tariq Jan in the chair.

The chief minister had announced an extra salary in the form of bonus to all cadre employees of Islamia College and its Collegiate School as a goodwill gesture on the occasion of centenary celebrations of the ICUP.

However, the participants of the meeting said, despite lapse of almost four months the government departments concerned had not yet released the amount. This inordinate delay, they further said, had caused unrest among the employees.

The meeting also debated at length certain other issues related to the appointment process against top positions in the university and various matters pertaining to problems faced by the teachers’ community.
