PESHAWAR: The US Consul General William Martin and the Director of the Institute of Management Sciences (IM Sciences) Dr Mohammad Mohsin Khan on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding to upgrade the status of an existing reading lounge in the institute to ‘Lincoln Corner’. The MoU was signed at a ceremony here.

The Reading Lounge was established in the institute’s central library in December 2014. Earlier this year the corner was renovated adding additional space and equipment. New IPADS, laptops, a children’s activity space, and additional print and digital resources have also been made available, according to a statement.

Created through a partnership between the US Consulate General in Peshawar and IM Sciences, the Lincoln Corner is one of 17 American spaces in Pakistan, providing access to information in the form of books, DVDs, and online resources.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mohsin pointed out that upgradation the reading lounge to Lincoln Corner demonstrated the strong partnership between IM Sciences and the US Consulate General and their commitment in facilitating students in various projects. Mr Martin highlighted the crucial role played by Lincoln Corners in fostering greater mutual understanding between the two countries.
