Provincial Games from Dec 5

KARACHI, Nov 15: The inaugural Inter-provincial Games will be held at Lahore from Dec 5-7 under the auspices of Punjab Olympic Association (POA), a spokesman of Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) said on Saturday.

The decision in this regard was taken during Oct 2 meeting of POA held in Lahore and ten discipline will be contested during three-day sporting extravaganza.

Athletics, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, karate, swimming, squash, volleyball, wrestling and weightlifting events will be held during the games.

In the meantime two-day trials to select 12-member Sindh volleyball squad for inter provincial games will be held at Khokher Club, Shah Faisal Colony, from Nov 18, Sindh Volleyball Association announced.

Selection committee headed by Shoaib Ahmed Usmani with Sohail Usmani, Nisar Ahmed Shaikh and K.Sharif as its member will watch the trials and select the team.—APP
