KARACHI: Two die in accidents

KARACHI, Nov 15: A boy died after he was run over by a bus in Nazimabad on Saturday.

Police said Mohammad Fayyaz, 7-year-old, was crossing a road when he was hit by a bus (P-0363). He died on the spot. Fayyaz was a student of class-1. Police arrested the bus driver, Mansoor Ali, and impounded the bus.

In another accident, a 20-year-old, Majid Abbasi, was hit by a train in Baloch Colony when he was crossing the railway tracks. Majid, a student of B.Com part-I, died on the spot. The body was sent to a hospital for autopsy.

ARRESTS: Police arrested four alleged robbers and recovered unlicensed weapons and stolen property from their possession.

The Johrabad police were informed about a robbery at the house of one Azam Beg in Bock 14, Federal B Area. As they reached the spot the robbers tried to flee.

Police chased the robbers who were in a rickshaw. They were intercepted near Mehfooz Sheermal House on Sharah-i-Pakistan by police. The suspects resisted arrest, but police overpowered them. Police recovered jewellery, cash and other valuables besides three TT pistols from them. The alleged robbers were identified as Muneer Ahmed, Mohammad Rafiq, Mohammad Adeel, and Mohammad Nawaz.
