SIALKOT, Nov 14: The arrest of acting PML-N president Makhdoom Javaid Hashmi has been termed state terrorism.

These views were expressed by leaders of the PML-N and ARD while speaking to a public meeting on Friday at Sambrial, Daska tehsil.

Punjab PML-N president Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said that Javaid Hashmi had raised his voice against the wrong policies of the government which were inimical to the interest of the country and democracy.

He vehemently condemned the government for violating human rights by sending the political leaders to jail.

Punjab PML-N secretary-general Khawaja Saad Rafique said the second round of a countrywide anti-government protest would start after Eid.

He said no power could block the way of the people to come on roads for the release of Javed Hashmi, adding that the government was paving the way for army dictatorship in the country by putting politicians behind bar.

PML-N’s Khawaja Muhammad Asif said the return of Mian Nawaz Sharif or Mian Shehbaz Sharif would change the entire political scenario in the country.

PPP’s provincial leader Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas pledged to topple the government through public protest.

Leaders of the PML-N and ARD declared that the government suppression could not stop political parties from their basic right of rising their voice for sustainable democratic system in the country.
