KARACHI, Nov 14: A young girl kidnapped from Lyari Town by her grandmother was recovered on Thursday night from Moro by the volunteers of Edhi Foundation and police.

According to reports, Nashmiya, 7, was taken away on Oct 28 by her grandmother, Yasmeen Tahira, a police constable posted in Artillery Maidan police station.

Later, Nashmiya’s mother Shafqat Noor lodged an FIR at the Kalri police station. She informed police that she had received a ransom call demanding Rs150,000 from Hyderabad.

She, later, went to Edhi Centre and narrated the whole incident. Rizwan Edhi informed his Hyderabad Centre and traced out the telephone number. It was found that the call was made from a bus terminus in Hyderabad.

An Edhi ambulance went to the terminus and found that the girl and her grandmother had left for Dera Ghazi Khan.

Edhi volunteers along with the local police stopped the bus at Moro, recovered the girl and arrested her grandmother.
