PESHAWAR, Nov 14: The candidates declared unsuccessful in the entry test for admission to medical and dental colleges on Oct 12, have warned of self-immolation if the test is not conducted again after Ramazan.

In a press release issued here Friday, the students and their parents alleged that the entry test conducted by the Educational Testing and Evaluation Authority (ETEA), was awashed with massive irregularities in which the blue-eyed students were facilitated by the examiners to get through.

Most of the able and intelligent students, they alleged deserved to qualify the test on the basis of their higher marks in the intermediate examination, but the officials overseeing the test manoeuvred to pass the favoured candidates at the cost capable ones.

The authorities, the students said had put at stake their future and asked for re-holding of the test.

The students and their parents, who called off hunger strike after assurance by the health minister, asked for immediate cancellation of the test.

They challenged that they could prove the charges of corruption and nepotism, but the government was hesitant to listen to their grievances.

They also expressed lack of confidence in the inquiry committee formed by the NWFP governor.
