MULTAN, Nov 11: The Lahore High Court, Multan bench, has directed the Rajanpur District Nazim to appear in person before the court on Dec 6.

Justice Zafar Yasin issued the directive on Tuesday on a writ petition of a contractor who complained that work on an on-going school building project was stopped allegedly on the orders of the district Nazim.

In another case, Justice Yasin sought explanation from Rajanpur DCO on a petition of a contractor.

Jamil Ahmad submitted that he had won the Rs676,854 contract for construction of school building at Mauza Gobal of Rajanpur and received payment of around Rs55,000 from the government.

He said recently a buildings department Xen ordered stoppage of work on the project, saying “the District Nazim does not like construction of school in the village.”—APP
