ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: An amount of Rs807.033 million is being spent on development of agriculture research sector during current financial year.

According to official sources, Rs500 million will be spent on agriculture development loan to facilitate the farmers to improve per acre productivity of the agri-land.

Grain quality testing laboratories in Islamabad and Karachi would be provided Rs88.530 million for improvement of quarantine facilities to improve livestock export this year.

An allocation of Rs66 million has been earmarked for integration of agriculture research and extension activities to improve crops productivity in the year.

For establishment of national veterinary laboratory at Islamabad an allocation of Rs35.850 million may be made during the year.

Tea research and development programme at Mansehra will cost Rs20.600 million to step up measures for enhancing tea production.—APP
