Published November 10, 2003

KARACHI, Nov 9: The city government has decided to close three hydrants, besides bringing down water supply from others, as the supply from the Hub Dam has been resumed.

According to a CDGK announcement on Sunday the hydrants that were closed included that in Sakhi Hasan and FB Area.

A CDGK meeting, presided over by City Nazim Naimatullah Khan, was informed that after resumption of water supply from the Hub Dam, there would be no need of 3,200 water tankers, presently supplying water to Orangi Town, Baldia, SITE and Surjani Town, and causing huge damage to city roads.

It was decided that a survey would also be conducted to ensure smooth water supply to various parts of the city.

The meeting also decided that private hydrants would also be closed soon, after conducting a detailed survey in this regard.—APP
