KARACHI: Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has extended the date for biometric registration of teachers to Feb 29, stressing that this is the last time that the date has been extended.
“The extension has been given only in view of considerable rush of teachers at data centres as even after working non-stop to feed their data into files, the programmers are unable to register all the teachers showing up at the last minute,” said the senior minister.
According to the information provided by the department of education, so far out of 202,000 employees, which comprise teaching and non-teaching staff of schools and colleges in Sindh, 190,000 have gotten themselves registered leaving some12,000 who have still not showed up for the process.
“This is their last chance. If they don’t get registered even now, their employment will be terminated,” he said.
