HYDERABAD, Nov 8: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Friday issued notices to Matiari DPO, TPO and SHO on a constitutional petition, filed by Ali Akbar Shah, alleging harassment of his family by the police.

Advocate Ayaz Latif Palijo represented the petitioner. The hearing of the petition has been fixed on Nov 12.

The petitioner stated that TPO Younus Chandio and SHO Asghar Halepoto raided the house of his cousin Mazhar Shah on Nov 1 without any warrant/complaint or any sort of proof regarding his involvement in any crime.

He said Mr Mazhar was not present at home and the police officials abused the women of his family and snatched gold ornaments worth Rs12,0000 and cash Rs32,0000 from them.

He stated the police physically assaulted and humiliated Baqadar Shah when he protested against the action.

He said when Amir Shah rushed to the spot, he too was abused by policemen in civvies.

He said he and his family approached the Matiari police station and office of DPO but to no avail.

He stated he had sent telegrams to high officials after which the police implicated his brother and cousin in a fabricated case.
