KARACHI: Wounded man dies

KARACHI, Nov 8: A man, who had been wounded on Friday in a robbery bid in Mithadar, died at a hospital on Saturday.

Police said some robbers entered an electric store in Mithadar and demanded of the owner to hand over the cash he had. The owner, Babu Saleem, put up strong resistance to the robbers, who in turn, shot him and fled. One of the bullets also hit a passerby, identified as Iqbal.

The wounded were rushed to the Civil Hospital, where Saleem died on Saturday.

ROBBERY: The wife and son of a senior journalist were robbed of cash and belongings at gunpoint near Johar Mor.

The journalist, Haider Imam, lodged an FIR with the Aziz Bhatti police station on Saturday, stating that his wife and son withdrew Rs17,000 from a bank and were intercepted on their way home near Johar Mor by two motorcyclists, who snatched Rs20,000 from them, besides gold chain and other belongings.
