SANGHAR, Dec 28: A man who was beaten for kidnapping a girl, died on Friday in a Nawabshah hospital.

The deceased, Anwar, 40, had kidnapped an unmarried girl, H, 22, from Shahmeer Panhwar Colony about three weeks ago.

The parents of the girl hunted them at Karachi from where they were brought back here on Wednesday when both of them were allegedly beaten and tortured by the relatives of the girl.

Both were injured and the girl was shifted to local civil hospital while the man was removed to Nawabshah where he succumbed to injuries.

He was father of four children.

Sanghar police had already registered a case under Hudood Ordinance against him on the statement of the girl who had accused the deceased of kidnapping and criminal assault.
