Woman burns two daughters to death

FAISALABAD, Nov 6: A woman allegedly burnt her two daughters to death in Aslamabad area of Chak Jhumra tehsil on Wednesday night.

According to details, 26-year-old Rani Bibi quarrelled with her husband, Ahmed Yar, 50, over some family affair. She allegedly sprinkled kerosene oil on her two daughters Moafia (2) and Asia (3) and set them to fire.

The girls succumbed to their burn injuries at hospital.

Area police arrested Rani Bibi.

Injured: An inspector and his nephew sustained serious bullet injuries on Thursday when two neighbours opened fire on them over the construction of a wall dispute at Chak 4 of Lundianwali police station.

Rana Nasrullah of the Jhang district police and his nephew Aslam were present in their house when Naseem and Shamim came there and allegedly opened fire on them, injuring both of them. They were shifted to the Allied Hospital where the condition of Aslam was described as critical.

Lundianwali police have registered a case against both the accused and arrested one of them, Naseem.
