HYDERABAD, Nov 6: The Wapda Hydro Electric Labour Union at an urgent meeting has severely criticized the superintendent engineer (circle-II) Ziaul Haque Khan, ex-engineer Imdad Ali Dozar, and ex-engineer (Naushahro Feroze) Abdul Hamid Talpur for terminating the services of Hesco employees during the month of Ramazan under the Presidential Ordinance 2000.

The meeting was held at the Labour Hall on Thursday.

It charged that the ordinance was being misused by the officials concerned.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy chairman of the union, Mir Khan Baloch accused Hesco officials of corruption as a result of which line losses had increased and recovery had been badly affected.

He said the lower staff was being punished for the line losses and the low recovery.

He accused the officials of encouraging Kunda system.

The provincial media coordinator, Saleem Anwar, said that the actual culprits were the officials who were blaming the lower staff so as to save their own skins.

He demanded the reinstatement of all sacked employees, including Ghulam Sarwar, Nazeer Panhwar, Fida Hussain and Saleem Khanzada, before Eidul Fitr.

He also appealed to the member of Sindh and national assemblies to raise their voice against the Presidential Ordinance 2000.
