RAWALPINDI, Nov 5: The Balochistan government has asked the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police to arrest killers of a Quaid-i-Azam University student as ‘delay’ is causing concern among the students in Balochistan, an official source said on Wednesday.
Observing the unrest among the students of Balochistan, the home secretary has asked the ICT police to arrest the killers of Naseeruddin, the source said.
In another move, the interior ministry has sought ‘progress report’ regarding the arrest of the killers of a student of the QAU, the source said.
Naseeruddin, a student of history department, was killed and five other students were injured when firing broke out between two rival groups on October 13. The university was temporarily closed after the incident.
According to police investigation, the clash started between the Pakhtoon and Punjab councils (the two groups of students) over the issue of talking to a girl student.
A murder case had been registered against 60 students, four of whom were identified as the main accused in the FIR.
They are Usman, Khurram Sahi, Bilal Hanif and Muzamil Mushtaq. None of the main accused has so far been arrested by the ICT police, the official source said.
