Armed men kidnap doctor

LAHORE, Nov 4: A doctor was kidnapped allegedly by three armed men from Bhati Chowk here on Tuesday night.

Usman told police he along with his father, Dr Umar Farooq, had gone for shopping. He said his father was sitting in the car (LRD-9612) when three armed men took him away along with the four-wheeler.

Neither the doctor nor had the car been traced till the filing of this report.

ARRESTED: Model Town police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested five robbers.

Identified as Rizwan, Tahir Niazi, Zahid, Mansoor and Shahzad, the alleged robbers were arrested from various parts of the city.

Two mausers and three carbines were claimed to have been seized from the accused, who, the police claim, had so far confessed to 24 robberies.
