LAHORE, Nov 4: The District Nazim has ordered the constitution of special squads in every town for the removal of encroachments besides stern action against all those responsible for substandard construction of a new block in the Government Central Model School, Lower Mall.

The Nazim issued the orders while presiding over a meeting held here on Tuesday to review the progress of work on the Rs893.1 million ongoing development schemes in the city district.

He was informed that the cost estimates of all educational development projects were ready for approval and development of a new bus stand at Sikandaria Colony on Bund Road would begin this week.

He was informed that tenders for the construction of boundary wall of its Mahmood Booti landfill site at a cost of Rs4 million and construction of Hall Road in Gulberg had been approved. He expressed dissatisfaction over the tardy pace of implementation of the annual development programme and stressed the need for expediting the pace of development.
