KARACHI, Nov 4: The complaint cell at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat received a large number of complaints during the last 48 hours.

Of the total complaints received, 44 related to non-availability of water, less water with low pressure, from Gulberg, Lyari, New Karachi, Liaqatabad, Jamsheed Town, North Nazimabad, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Azizabad, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, PECHS and New Town. Thirteen complaints regarding sewerage, overflow of gutters and garbage dumps were also received.

Of the complaints concerning the city government, 16 were received on November 2, and 18 on November 3, from Shah Faisal Colony. Chanasar Hault, Malir, Gulberg. North Karachi, F.B. Area, Model Colony, Muslim Town, Jamsheed Town, New Karachi, Gulistan-i-Johar, Adam Colony, Dehli Colony, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Tariq Road, Gulzar-i-Hijri and Shadman Town.

These complaints related to sale of vegetables and fruits in violation of fixed prices. The concerned authorities directed the DDOs to check and punish the profiteers. The defaulters were fined over Rs80,000 last week and Rs112,325 on November 1.

The cell received three complaints on November 2 from P.I.B. Colony, New Town and PECHS, regarding low gas pressure and leakage. On November 2, two complaints were received from DHA and Malir. The complaints were attended to.—APP
