FAISALABAD, Nov 2: Jaranwala lawyers, the PML-N, the PPP and a number of NGOs held a protest demonstration on Saturday in the tehsil courts against setting up of a new police circle of Khurrianwala.

The protesters chanted slogans against the government and some of the area politicians who were backing the move to declare Khurrianwala as new police circle and a part of Chak Jhumra tehsil.

They claimed that the move was against the people of Jaranwala as they would have to go to Faisalabad or Chak Jhumra to resolve their petty problems putting an undue financial burden on them.

They announced that they would continue their protest till the acceptance of their demand.

Meanwhile, lawyers of Jaranwala observed a complete strike for the 12th consecutive day on Saturday.
