LAHORE, Nov 1: Masood Iqbal, a former Pakistan International cricketer, died here on Friday due to kidney failure. He was 51.
Masood, born on April 17, 1952, was suffering from kidney ailment for the last six months.
Masood, who represented Lahore, Punjab, Punjab University, and Habib Bank Limited, appeared in 150 first-class matches in which he scored 2,710 runs and accounted for 376 batsmen behind the wickets.
He also took three wickets.
He played a one-day international against New Zealand in 1984-85.
Masood Iqbal went to New Zealand in 1995 as Manager of the Pakistan ‘A’ team and also served as member of the selection committee in 1999 during the tenure of Dr Zafar Altaf.—APP
