ISLAMABAD, Dec 26: Islamabad Hawks set up a clash with Eleven Star in the final of the Chairman CDA Cricket Championship after both scored comfortable semi-final victories.

Islamabad Hawks knocked out Youngster by 42 runs, Ameer Khan leading the way with a well-struck 51 and Atif Ashraf hitting up 46 as their side put on 205 in 38 overs. Omer Asif was the chief wicket-taker with three for 24 while Adnanul Haq and Qasim Gondal picked up two each.

Youngster reply was tame as they fell for 163 in 37.2 overs. Initially Muhammad Zahid (68) and Irfan Bhatti (47) attempted to spur their side on but their efforts were not enough.

Hakim Butt snapped up three wickets for 38 runs with Kamran Siddiqui taking two for 33.

In the other semi-final Eleven Star routed Rawal Town by six wickets at the Shalimar Ground.

Zafar Mahmood stroked a delightful 73 and Muhammad Altaf scored 42 as Eleven Star easily overhauled Rawal Town’s total of 187 in 39 overs.

Rizwan Bhatti claimed three wickets for Eleven Star while Shakir Mahmood captured as many for Rawal Town.
