MUMBAI, Oct 30: Indian cricket team’s acting captain, Rahul Dravid, on Thursday declared Sourav Ganguly, recovering from an operation in Kolkata, is the right person to lead the team.

He told newsmen here that his tenure as Indian captain was just temporary. “Once Sourav is fully fit, I will hand over reins to him as he is right person to lead the side”.

Dravid, who is here to lead the team in their crucial one-dayer in ongoing Tri-series against the Aussies, said he would be picking five talented youngsters in age group of under-14 and under-16 in next two to three months and try to nurture them for future.

“Most young talents in the country do not have financial backup and our idea is to provide not only financial aspect but also guide them to become fine sportsmen and good human beings. We will act as their (young cricketers) friend, guide and philosopher”, he added.—PPI
