KARACHI, Oct 30: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Managing Director, Brig Asif Ghazali, said on Thursday that water connections of domestic defaulters will not be disconnected during Ramazan.

However, he said, the campaign against commercial consumers defaulting in making payments would continue.

He directed the KWSB’s Tax department to take steps for timely issuance of bills to the consumers, besides providing facility to make payments in instalments to those consumers against whom hefty bills were pending.

Brig Ghazali appealed to the people to pay their water bills on time so that continuous development work, pertaining to water and sewerage, could be ensured.

He pointed out that the board was a service-oriented organization, which could provide better services only when the people would pay taxes in time.

He called for making the consumer centres more effective and functional.

These centres are located in Awami Markaz, Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town, Tax division, opposite Urdu College, Town Tax division, Jamshed Town, near Islamic College and Liaquatabad Super Market.—APP
