ISLAMABAD, Oct 29: Leader of the opposition in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, said on Wednesday the Indian proposals and messages of goodwill were just delaying tactics aimed at reducing world pressure for the resolution of long-standing Kashmir dispute.
“Whenever there is an international diplomatic pressure on India for the settlement of the Kashmir dispute, its leaders talk about some proposals just to hoodwink the world community,” he told APP.
Pakistan, he said, should respond to Indian proposals keeping in view the “Hindu mentality”.
He expressed the need to unmask India’s real face at the international foras in the backdrop of current regional and world situation.
Barrister Sultan said Pakistan had already offered several concessions to India for peace in the region, but India had been levelling allegation of cross-border terrorism against it.
He said, actually, the cross-border terrorism was not an issue and added that it was an indigenous movement for the right to self-determination being propelled in the occupied Kashmir.
Kashmiris are struggling for their birth right of self-determination in accordance with the United Nations resolutions, he added.
Today, he said, India is inviting the leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) for talks which he termed a bid to create rift among them.
The APHC leaders should not sit on the negotiating table until India’s state terrorism against the innocent Kashmiris is not stopped, he added.
India, he said, is violating the international law on both sides of the Line of Control (LOC) and its aggressive and inflexible postures are endangering the world peace.
Mr Sultan urged the world community take strong notice of Indian designs and unmask its real face.
Rejecting any other option for the resolution of Kashmir issue, he said, only the United Nations resolutions provide an acceptable and lasting settlement of the Kashmir issue.
