Drive against encroachment launched

ABBOTTABAD, Oct 29: After the successful anti-encroachment campaign carried out by the Tehsil Municipal Administration Abbottabad, the Cantonment Board has also launched an anti-encroachment drive.

Cantonment Executive Officer Abbottabad Anwar Khalil talking to Dawn on Wednesday said the Cantonment Board Abbottabad had planned to construct three shopping plazas in the cantt region.

About major developmental programmes, he said despite limited resources the board was trying to provide basic amenities to the citizens.

He said two filter plants were being installed in the area and in near future special entertainment facilities would be provided to children.

Referring to poor condition of the main roads, he stated due to ill planning and haphazard construction it was becoming an increasingly difficult task for cantt authorities to rectify the situation.—Correspondent
