MANSEHRA, Oct 29: Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan, president of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, has underlined the need for resolution of 56-year-old Kashmir dispute and termed it mandatory for durable peace in the South Asian region.

Speaking at a rally at Hazara University Dhodiyal, Mansehra, he stressed the need for depicting a true picture of Kashmir on national and international level.

The students also took out a procession in the campus and chanted slogans against the Indian army and its leadership.

Vice Chancellor Dr Daud Awan and veteran Muslim Leaguer Mufti Mohammad Idrees also spoke on the occasion.

Sardar Attique said that in order to suppress the freedom movement of the Kashmiri people, India had deployed 800,000 troops in occupied Kashmir who were committing genocide of the innocent Kashmiris.

He said that Kashmiris and their Pakistani brethren observed the black day against Indian occupation for conveying a message to the world community that they would never accept the Indian hegemony.

Sardar Attique said that Kashmir was the core issue between India and Pakistan and a durable peace in the region can not be even imagined unless the Kashmir issue is resolved. He also warned of a nuclear threat in the region due to the Kashmir dispute.
