PESHAWAR, Oct 29: Three members of a family were killed over a property dispute just before Iftar in Tarnab village of Chamkani on Tuesday.
Police officials said that Sikandar Khan had a dispute over a piece of land with his brother-in-law Umra Khan, a resident of Tarnab village.
On Tuesday noon, both men with their parties went to the field and started indiscriminate firing when they saw each other at the disputed land, the officials said.
As a result, Sabir Hussain, son of Sikandar Khan; Mushtaq and Nisar, sons of Umra Khan were killed on the spot.
Sikandar Khan lodged an FIR with the Chamkani police against Aslam, Mumtaz, Shahjehan, Aftab, Amjad and the deceased Mushtaq and Nisar. While, Umara Khan nominated Tahir, Zahir, Kamran and the deceased Sabir in the case.
SMUGGLER ARRESTED: Meanwhile, the Anti-Narcotics Force has arrested an alleged smuggler, while two escaped after a car-chase on The Mall here soon after the Iftar on Tuesday.
The ANF team on a tip-off chased a car No Nowshera-D 2235 and at the intersection near Combined Military Hospital hit the vehicle from the back. But two of the alleged smugglers escaped, and one unidentified smuggler was overpowered by the ANF team.
But both the ANF team and police, which also reached the spot later on, did not tell about the name of the arrested smuggler and seized drug.
CERTIFICATES: Certificates were distributed among 300 male and female Afghan refugees on the completion of the adult education programme on Wednesday.
The programme was arranged by the Naab Action Foundation, an non-governmental organisation working in the education and health sector.
The NGO started six-month education programme for those adult Afghan refugees who could not read or write. Around 240 women and 60 men completed the course.
