LAHORE, Oct 28: The Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency will complete remodelling of Khayaban-i-Jamia Punjab for removing traffic congestion in front of the Shaikh Zayed Hospital gate before Eidul Fitr.

Tepa plans to widen the road between the canal bridge and the university gate in front of the Shaikh Zayed Hospital emergency gate by 12 feet to provide a slip road to the traffic moving from the canal bank towards Bhaikhewal Mor on Wahdat Road to proceed uninterrupted. A traffic signal will be installed in front of the hospital gate for traffic heading for the hospital.

A footpath will also be built along the university boundary wall for the pedestrians. Tepa has already started work on the project by felling all trees along the university boundary fence on the road stretch proposed to be remodelled.

Tepa also proposes to build an underground passage for pedestrians for crossing the road in front of the emergency gate.
